The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation supports the following programs:
Jim’s Kids Each year The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation selects kids from grades 9th through 12th for the JBF Internship Program. The foundation introduces kids to a professional work setting for a one-year term. During this term, kids learn what it takes to become successful young professionals after graduation. JBF helps kids pair up with local companies for summertime internship positions. The foundation assists kids with financial support during their internship term, as well as providing the proper work attire and a laptop to get the job done. Through the JBF, kids from 104 section 3 schools will have the opportunity to learn career skills for the future
Sneakers 4 Kids Provides free shoes to kids that don’t have the resources to purchase them. These shoes will be used for the school year, recess, and organized team sports. The information will be obtained through the section 3 school districts. Shoes will be donated and purchased as necessary, whether it’s before the school year, or before a seasonal sport begins.
Courts 4 Kids Courts 4 Kids is a partnership with JBF, Carmelo Anthony and Dorsey Levens. The mission is to refurbish or build basketball courts in the parks of the Syracuse community. The JBF hopes to encourage positive outlets for our youth by providing these wonderful new facilities. Local contractors are constructing the areas. When finished, the courts will be turned over to the parks for programming and annual maintenance. The focus is to assist under privileged children in the Syracuse areas through programs designed to encourage interaction with the community.
