8) CNYSNLA Environmental Committee works closely with local Universities, to bring factual scientific information/contacts to the local media and governmental bodies, both within Onondaga county and at the State level..
This information focuses on the multiple branches of our Landscape Industry, and how that benefits the environment around our homes, and where we work.
We supplement this with the experiences from our local Landscape professionals, real people with real experiences, within our community.
CNYSNLA has worked with the Onondaga County Legislature and the Onondaga Count Health Department, as well as being a source of information for most of our local Media, to name a few.
Our Enviromental Committee is happy to provide speakers, either for the public or at your gathering, to discuss proper planting, landscape care, or proper pest control, to name but a few subjects.
9) CNY Blooms Preview Garden Party for Habitat for Humanity. The CNYSNLA has collaborated with Syracuse Habitat for Humanity for this event and all proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity. In 2008 $12,000 was raised at this event in its first year!
